FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Is there a cost for your therapeutic services? No. All of PEIRSAC’s therapeutic services are free, and always will be. Healing is a right, not a privilege. Our team believes in trauma-informed therapy that removes as many barriers as possible.
-
If I’ve previously worked with a therapist at PEIRSAC, can I see the same therapist again? We are honoured when survivors return to continue their healing journey with us. If you’ve had a break in service and wish to reconnect with the same therapist, we’ll do our best to make that possible. However, availability depends on individual caseloads. If your previous therapist isn’t available, with your written consent, they can share key information with your new therapist so you don’t feel like you’re starting over. We know this transition can be hard, and we’re here to make it as smooth as possible.
-
When will the counselling waitlist reopen for new clients? Our therapeutic program is undergoing a major transformation. We’re building a model that prioritizes timely, ethical, and equitable care for all survivors. We know waiting can be challenging, and we’re working collaboratively to change that. Updates on our progress will be posted regularly, with the next one scheduled for August 1st. Thank you for your patience. We see your courage, and we believe you.
